Abstract(s)
A nossa amostra
No
consideram negativa.
In this work we aim to study the experiences of change in women with breast cancer at different stages of individual and family life cycle. For this used the Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis from J. Smith (IPA). Our sample consisted of 10 subjects, 5 women with breast cancer in the adult phase of life individually and respectively in the fourth and fifth stage of the family life cycle and 5 women with breast cancer in post-menopausal women of individual life cycle and, respectively, in the seventh stage of the family life cycle. The results enabled us to verify that younger women with breast cancer, experience more changes than older women with breast cancer. These changes are not only experienced in their own self, but also in the their whole family structure. However, we can also conclude that there is a better psychological adjustment for women younger. The main base that supports this premise is that they can make positive revaluation of an experience that still is considered negative.
