ABSTRACT: Although discussed several times, the music consumption intention has never been studied embracing subculture lifestyles as a possible cause for the choice of music, following its purchase. Therefore, this study intends to take the Ajzen's Theory of Planned Behaviour (1991), articulate it with Lazer's Cultural Model (1963), and relate the lifestyles of the reggae musical sub-culture with the intention of music consumption. The aim is to understand if the values and the habits concerning music of that sub-culture, as well as the variables foreseen in Ajzen's Model, predict the intention of downloads of music in legal sites. It was shown that neither the cultural components nor the variables of the Ajzen's Model predict the intention of music downloads.
