Autoconceito e auto-estima, relações entre pares e relações amorosas em adolescentes com deficiência visual

| dc.description.abstract | O objectivo deste estudo consiste em verificar se existem diferenças significativas em relação ao autoconceito e auto-estima, relações entre pares e relações amorosas entre adolescentes deficientes visuais, por comparação aos seus pares normovisuais, numa amostra constituída por 60 adolescentes. Para tal, utilizámos três instrumentos: a Escala de Autoconceito e Auto-estima para Adolescentes (12 aos 18 anos) de Peixoto e Almeida (1999), a Escala de Amizade Íntima para Adolescentes de Cordeiro (2003) e o Questionário de Vinculação Amorosa de Matos e Costa (2001). Os resultados mostraram que, para o primeiro grupo, os adolescentes normovisuais apresentaram valores mais elevados nas dimensões Aceitação social, Atracção romântica, Amizades íntimas e Auto-estima, comparativamente com os deficientes visuais. Para o segundo grupo, apresentaram valores mais elevados nas mesmas dimensões excepto Atracção romântica. Para os dois grupos, não se encontraram diferenças significativas nas diferentes características das relações entre pares. Relativamente às relações amorosas, os adolescentes normovisuais apresentaram valores mais elevados na característica “dependência”, comparativamente com os seus pares deficientes visuais. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT: The purpose of this study is to verify if there are significant differences in self-concept and self-esteem, peer´s relationships and love relationships among visually impaired adolescents, compared to their sighted peers in a sample of 60 adolescents. Thus, we used three instruments: the Self-concept and Self-Esteem Scale for Adolescents (12 to 18 years) of Peixoto and Almeida (1999), the Intimate Friendship Scale of Cordeiro (2003) and Romantic Atachement Questionnaire of Matos and Costa (2001). The results showed that for the first group, the sighted adolescents showed higher values in the Social acceptance, Romantic attraction, Intimate friendship and self-esteem dimensions, compared with the visually impaired. The second group showed higher values in the same dimensions except romantic attraction. For both groups, there were no significant differences in the different characteristics of peer’s relationships. For the love relationships, sighted adolescents showed higher values in the characteristic "dependence", compared with their visual impaired peers. | pt_PT |
