Abstract(s)
O presente estudo teve como principal objetivo investigar o efeito na insegurança
laboral decorrente da perceção de excesso de trabalho, sendo esta relação moderada pela
perceção de uma cultura organizacional de equilíbrio entre vida pessoal e profissional. Ao
mesmo tempo, procurou-se estudar as diferentes variáveis, os seus antecedentes e consequentes
tanto para os colaboradores, como para as organizações.
Esta investigação contou com a participação de 203 indivíduos e trabalhadores de
diversas áreas de mercado em Portugal.
Em primeira instância, procedeu-se à investigação da perceção de excesso de trabalho
dos participantes. Como resultado, verificou-se que os mesmos não percecionam valores
elevados de excesso de trabalho. Assim, é possível observar que muitas das organizações em
Portugal não aplicam sobrecarga de trabalho aos seus funcionários. A hipótese do estudo, sobre
o efeito da perceção de excesso de trabalho na insegurança laboral foi parcialmente confirmada.
Apenas se obteve um efeito positivo e significativo para a dimensão de insegurança qualitativa.
No que diz respeito à perceção de uma cultura organizacional potenciadora de equilíbrio entre
vida pessoal e profissional, os participantes não percecionam a existência deste tipo de cultura
nas suas organizações. O efeito moderador desta variável não se verificou.
Para os estudantes de psicologia social e das organizações, bem como para todos
gestores de recursos humanos, os temas abordados revelam ser de grande importância. É da
responsabilidade dos gestores de recursos humanos reorganizar o trabalho de forma contínua,
envolvendo uma combinação de políticas que protejam os trabalhadores de insegurança laboral
e excesso de trabalho, pois todas estas práticas apresentam um impacto mais ou menos
significativo no sucesso das empresas.
The main goal of this study was to investigate the effect of job insecurity on the perception of overwork, which is moderated by the perception of an organizational culture that enhance balance between personal and professional life. The same investigation, studied these different variables, their antecedents and consequences, both to the workers and the organizations. This research had the participation of 203 employees from various areas of the market, residents in Portugal. As a starting point, we investigated the perception of overwork by the participants. As a result, it was observed that the participants did not perceive high values of overwork. The hypothesis of the study about the effect of perception of overwork on job insecurity was partially confirmed. There was only one positive and significant effect on the qualitative insecurity dimension. Regarding to the perception of a work-life balance culture, the participants do not perceive the existence of this type of culture in their organizations. The moderating effect of this variable did not occur. To the students of social psychology and organizations, as well as all human resource managers, these subjects reveal to have great importance. It is responsibility of human resource managers reorganize work on a continuous basis, involving a combination of policies that protect workers from work insecurity and overwork, as all these practices have a significant impact on the success of companies.
