Abstract(s)
Âmbito: pretende-se neste estudo verificar o bem-estar psicológico e o grau de intimidade de
pessoas em relações monogâmicas e em relações poliamorosas. Objetivo: apurar o bem-estar
psicológico e o grau de intimidade de pessoas que se encontram em relações poliamorosas e
pessoas em relações monogâmicas. Tem como hipóteses: a) haverá diferenças significativas no
bem-estar psicológico entre as pessoas em relações monogâmicas e em relações poliamorosas;
b) haverá diferenças significativas no grau de intimidade entre as pessoas em relações
monogâmicas e em relações poliamorosas; c) de que forma o bem-estar psicológico influencia
o grau de intimidade entre pessoas em relações monogâmicas e entre pessoas em relações
poliamorosas Método: participaram 88 pessoas da população geral (não-clínica), com idade
superior a 18 anos, tendo a amostra sido recolhida online através do método bola-de-neve (não probabilístico), residentes em Portugal e fluentes em língua portuguesa. Os participantes
responderam aos instrumentos PAIR para apurar o grau de intimidade e EBEP-r para apurar o
valor do bem-estar psicológico. Resultados: a amostra da população recolhida não corrobora
as hipóteses, salientando-se a diferença do valor da subescala crescimento pessoal na
comparação dos valores da média do bem-estar psicológico de pessoas em relações
poliamorosas vs pessoas em relações monogâmicas.
ABSTRACT: Focus: The aim of this study is to verify the psychological well-being and level of intimacy of people in monogamous relationships and in polyamorous relationships. Objective: To ascertain the psychological well-being and level of intimacy of people in polyamorous relationships and people in monogamous relationships. The hypotheses are: a) There will be no significant differences in psychological well-being between people in monogamous relationships and those in polyamorous relationships; b) There will be no significant differences in the level of intimacy between people in monogamous relationships and those in polyamorous relationships; c) how does psychological well-being influences the level of intimacy between people in monogamous relationships and between people in polyamorous relationships. Method: 88 people from the general (non-clinical) population, aged over 18, collected online using the snowball method (non-probabilistic), living in Portugal and fluent in Portuguese, took part. Participants answered the PAIR instrument to determine the degree of intimacy and the EBEP-r to determine the value of psychological well-being. Results: the population sample corroborates the hypotheses, highlighting the difference in the value of the personal growth subscale when comparing the average values of psychological well-being of people in polyamorous relationships vs. people in monogamous relationships.
