Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT: The testimony produced by the witnesses of a crime is extremely important because he may conduct to the identification of the suspect. On the other way, because of the complex information process, related to perception and memory of the event, gathering information sometimes becomes complicated. The cognitive interview covers a range of communication techniques and memory retrieval, developed to increase the amount of information. With this project I intend to verify that the cognitive police interview (adapted from cognitive interview) compared with traditional interview, retrieve much information for a given event and the information recovered is also more accurate. Participate as interviewers 20 individuals from among those attending the Course of Criminal Investigation in the Guard School. In a classroom environment presents a film that portrays a simulated assault. Sometime later witnesses are interviewed by a procedure of police cognitive interview (experimental group) and according to a traditional police interview protocol in use on the GNR (control group). Altogether 60 interviews will be conducted. All interviews are recorded, transcribed and analyzed taking into account the amount of correct and incorrect information reported by witnesses.
