Abstract(s)
A presente dissertação é parte de um estudo empírico através do qual se pretendeu
compreender, a partir da perspetiva de agentes da Polícia de Segurança Pública (PSP),
como é que a vítima de Violência Doméstica é recebida, acompanhada e orientada quando
pede auxílio à PSP. Nesta investigação participaram 4 Agentes da PSP, todos de postos
diferentes e com tempo de serviço diferentes. Os participantes são maioritariamente do
sexo masculino e com idades compreendidas entre os 27 e os 57 anos. Para a
concretização do presente estudo foi utilizada a metodologia de investigação de natureza
qualitativa, a Grounded Theory, cujos pressupostos guiaram o processo de recolha,
análise e tratamento dos dados recolhidos. Relativamente à recolha de dados utilizou-se
o método da Entrevista Qualitativa, que teve, por base, um guião de entrevista
semiestruturada, construído no âmbito da presente investigação, em que constam os temas
gerais e os tópicos específicos a abordar. Da investigação resultaram 5 grandes grupos
que correspondem: Caraterísticas dos Agentes Para Trabalhar em Violência Domestica
Segundo os Especialistas, Vitimas e Pares; Estereótipos, Crenças, Mitos e Fantasias;
Avaliação da Gravidade da Situação Encontrada pelo Agente; Limitações ao
Desempenho da Função; Os Média. Por fim, procedemos à discussão de resultados
obtidos, refletindo sobre as suas possíveis implicações para a prática e sugerindo linhas
de investigação futura.
The present dissertation is part of an empirical study with the purpose of, from the perspective of the Polícia de Segurança Pública agents, understanding how a victim of Domestic Violence that approaches PSP for support is welcomed, accompanied and oriented. This study was conducted with the participation of 4 PSP agents, all of different rankings within the force and with different length of service time. The participants are majority male and with ages between 27 and 57 years old. To carry out this study a qualitative research methodology was applied, the Grounded Theory, whose assumptions guided the process of data collection, analysis and processing. The collection of data was conducted using the Qualitative Interview methodology, and was based on a semi-structured interview script, constructed within the scope of this investigation, where the main subjects and specific topics of this investigation were included. This investigation had as result 5 broad groups: Characteristics of Officers to Work with Domestic Violence cases According to Experts, Victims and Peers; Stereotypes, Beliefs, Myths and Fantasies; Agents Severity Assessment Ability of the Situation Found; Limitations on the performance of Duty ; The Media. Finally, we proceeded to the discussion of the obtained results, reflecting on the possible implications to the practice and suggesting future lines of investigation.
