Abstract(s)
As tarefas
objectivos:
- Conhecer as crenças e significações relativamente à gravidez, maternidade
ABSTRACT: Has been given increasing importance to issues related to pregnancy, motherhood, parenting and labor. Much has been written on this subject that becomes actually true now. Further study of the beliefs, attitudes, mental representations, expectations and ideas of women who go through this experience is missing. This study aims to add knowledge to this subject, and aims to: - know the beliefs and meanings in relation to pregnancy, maternity and labor in pregnant women who use a query Maternal Health. - searching for differences (or not) on these beliefs and individual meanings between Portuguese and foreign women; - Furthermore, we intend to study the individual expectations of these women on the Course of Preparing for Parenthood operating in the same Health Center. This survey used a previous standard Assessment Survey of Parental Attitudes and Representations (AARP) to 87 Portuguese and Foreign women. It was found that there is little difference for most of the dimensions / categories of beliefs found among the group of National and Foreign pregnant women. For its part, has validated the protocol used to work in that Preparation Course for Maternity / Paternity by the dimensions of expectations found in the two groups of women. Additionally no differences were found relating to these expectations between the two groups.
