Context: Context: In recent decades, we have witnessed a resurgence of interest in psychedelic science. For future studies involving psychological factors as potential mechanisms for facilitating behavioral change and promoting psychological well-being, the validation and adaptation of psychometric instruments is necessary. This study aims to: i) translate and adapt the Psychological Insight Scale (PIS) to the Portuguese language and culture and ii) analyze the psychometric properties (factorial validity, reliability, and construct validity of the items translated into Portuguese). Methods: Data were collected in a ceremonial context through an online questionnaire at various points before and after the ceremony. Results: PCA of the PIS showed that 73.3% of the variance is explained by the principal component and demonstrated a good, very 0,993) among the 6 items of the instrument's unifactorial structure. Concurrent Validity: the higher the level of psychological insight in the individual, the lower the psychological resistance (rho=,700, p<,001); a significant and promising relationship between psychological insight and transpersonal and mystical experiences (rho = ,338, p < ,001) and more challenging events (rho =,207, p < ,049) that emerged during the psychedelic experience. Predictive Validity: given the significant Spearman PIS-6 correlation (1 day after the ceremony) with psychological well-being (WEMBWBS+2weeks) (rho =,156, p<,001); Moderate correlation (rho=,401, p<,001) between positive behavioral change (PIS-item7) influenced by psychological insight and (WEMBWBS+2weeks). Post-dictive validity: PIS-6 (1 day after the ceremony) is predictive of subsequent changes in (WEMBWBS+2weeks) ,219, F(1,78) = 3,919, p =,051, R² =,036), such as PIS-6 (2 weeks after the ceremony) is predictive of subsequent changes in (WEMBWBS+2weeks) =,252, F (1, 78) = 5.30, p =,024, R² =.052), (WEMBWBS+2weeks). PIS-item-7 behavioral change (2 weeks after ceremony) predicts well-being (WEMBS+2weeks) =,420, F (1, 78) = 16,671, p<,001, R² =,166). Conclusion: A reliable measurement tool for the Portuguese population
