Abstract(s)
Os autores abordam os problemas de integração da
criança com deficiência no ensino regular, salientando
a importância do apoio individualizado, adaptação
curricular e metologia de avaliação e da sensibilização
dos professores e da Escola A problemática de deficiência
com base no desenvolvimento óptimo das capacidades
de cada criança.
Será que a nossa Escola está preocupada e tem
meios eficazes para atingir estes objectivos?
Uma Escola sem barreiras arquitectónicas e sobretudo
sem barreiras sociais e humanas onde a criança
com deficiência se possa sentir feliz com autoconfiança
e auto-estima, não é uma situação fácil no nos -
so país e exige uma verdadeira mudança de atitudes.
São abordados alguns problemas de integração em
vários países da Europa com dados históricos da sua
evolução e resultados, sendo referidas várias modalidades
de integração.
Os autores expõem a sua experiência neste campo
abordando a modalidade de integração progressiva utilizada
com um grupo de crianças do Centro através de
um trabalho conjunto com a Escola da comunidade
local.

O objectivo deste trabalho foi a criação de ocasiões
propícias a um intercâmbio de experiências pedagógicas
entre a Escola regular e a Escola do nosso Centro
através de actividades conjuntas criando oportunidades
educativas ligadas ao ecosistema cultural, desenvolvendo
acções de sensibilização dos pais, professores,
alunos e autoridades locais A problemática da criança
com deficiência.
Os autores consideram de grande importância a
colaboração estreita entre os Serviços de Saúde e de
Educação com um diagnóstico, avaliação e intervenção
precoces através de equipas multidisciplinares
incluindo sempre os Pais nas decisões.
The authors present the main problems regarding the integration of disabled children in ordinary schools. This integration can have different models. To make possible the full integration it is always necessary not only to provide the necessary extra help of technicai aids, adaptations to avoid physical barriers and personal to help and to assist individually the child, but as well to sensibilize the teachers, the parents and the community in general. The teachers have to be prepared to adapt the curriculum to the child’s individual needs in order to provide the best stimulation and motivation with self confidence and self esteem. We describe our experience of progressive integration with joint teaching programs betwen the regular school near the Centre and a group of children of our classes some of them with severe disabilities using help technology and alternative ways for communication. This exchange of pedagogic experience was very creative and gave good opportunities for acceptance of handicapped children and better learning about how to deal with their problems in ordinary environment.
