| dc.description.abstract | Este trabalho foi realizado com os objetivos de explorar a relação entre exposição à violência conjugal na infância ou adolescência e a perpetração; perceber a relação entre a exposição e a legitimação da violência conjugal na vida adulta, numa população de reclusos. Para perceber se os resultados obtidos são característicos dos reclusos, fomos comparar estas variáveis com uma amostra comunitária. Por fim, perceber se existem diferenças nas variáveis sociodemográficas quanto à legitimação, com as duas amostras juntas. Para isso, inquirimos 112 sujeitos, dos quais 56 são reclusos acusados/condenados pelo crime de Violência Doméstica e 56 sujeitos aleatórios. Foi-lhes solicitado que respondessem a um conjunto de escalas: Escala de Crenças sobre Violência Conjugal (ECVC) e Inventário de Violência Conjugal (IVC) ambas de Machado, Matos e Gonçalves (2006), utilizámos ainda uma dimensão (Exposição a Violência Doméstica) do Questionário da História de Adversidade na Infância traduzido por Silva e Maia (2008). Os resultados sugerem que, na amostra de reclusos, existem diferenças estatisticamente significativas entre alguns tipos de legitimação entre quem foi e não foi exposto à violência. Quanto à perpetração, não se verificaram diferenças entre quem foi (e não foi) exposto. Encontraram-se diferenças estatisticamente significativas ao nível das três variáveis entre as amostras (reclusos e não reclusos). Quanto à influência das variáveis sociodemográficas na legitimação da violência conjugal, verificou-se: quanto menos escolaridade, mais legitimação; não se encontraram diferenças entre as diferentes faixas etárias; e, sujeitos com consumos legitimam mais do que os sem consumos. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT: This study was carried out with the aim of exploring the relation between exposure to marital violence in childhood or adolescence and the perpetration; to perceive the relation between exposure and the legitimation of conjugal violence in adult life, in a population of prisoners. In order to understand if the results obtained are a characteristic of the prisoners, we compared these variables with a community sample. Finally, to understand if there are differences in the sociodemographic variables regarding legitimation, with the two samples together. To that end, we surveyed 112 persons, 56 of whom were accused/convicted for the crime of Domestic Violence and 56 random subjects. They were asked to respond to a set of scales: Scale of Beliefs on Conjugal Violence (ECVC) and Inventory of Conjugal Violence (IVC) both by Machado, Matos e Gonçalves (2006), we also used one dimension (Exposure to Domestic Violence) of the Questionnaire on the History of Adversity in Childhood translated by Silva e Maia (2008). The results suggest that, in the sample of prisoners, there are statistically significant differences between some types of legitimation between those who were and were not exposed to violence. As for the perpetration, there were no differences between who was (and was not) exposed. Statistically significant differences were found in the three variables between the samples (inmates and non-inmates). As to the influence of sociodemographic variables on the legitimacy of conjugal violence, it was verified: the less schooling, the more legitimacy; no differences were found between the different age groups; and, subjects with consumptions legitimize more than those without consumption. | pt_PT |
