dos membros do casal. Método: A amostra é constituída por 37 casais (M = 47,82 anos;
Introduction: The mutual influence that couples have on health-related behaviors can contribute to obesity and being overweight. This study aims to assess whether the couple's weight management treatment preferences influence the couple's intentions. Method: The sample consists of 37 couples (M = 47.82 years, SD = 12.77) in which at least one member of the couple is overweight or obese and has lived together for at least one year. Participants completed a sociodemographic, lifestyle and health questionnaire, a questionnaire based on the OxFAB taxonomy to assess treatment preferences, and an instrument based on the HAPA model to measure intentions. To analyze the results, the Actor-Partner Interdependence Model (APIM) was used. Results: Through this analysis, it was found that both the actor effect and the partner effect did not find statistically significant differences, which means that the couple's treatment preferences do not predict the intention to implement weight management strategies. Conclusion: Although the results were not significant, this study fills a gap in the literature as, so far, this was the first study to relate treatment preferences in weight management to adopt weight management strategies in the context of the Couple.
