Abstract(s)
Método: A amostra inclui
Qualidade da Relação; (2) Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) e (3) Prolonged
Grief Disorder Revised (PG-13-R).
ABSTRACT: Introduction: The quality of the relationship with the person lost has an impact on adaptation to bereavement. Further research is needed to understand how aspects of relationship quality influence the development of Protracted Grief Disorder, particularly in relation to depression and anxiety symptoms. Objective: This study aims to analyse how relationship quality influences Prolonged Grief Disorder (PLD) and anxiety and depression symptoms. Method: The sample includes 269 adults, aged between 18 and 74, who have lost a loved one in the last five years. Data was collected online by filling in a Sociodemographic Questionnaire, followed by the application of three instruments: (1) Relationship Quality Scale; (2) Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale(HADS) and (3) Prolonged Grief Disorder Revised (PG-13-R). Results: Proximity and conflict between the carer and their loved one had a significant impact on symptoms of PLP, anxiety and depression. Conclusion: This study contributes to corroborating the importance of relationship quality in adapting to loss, emphasising the need to assess and intervene in relational aspects in order to prevent complications in the bereavement process
