T------Several studies have found a interrelations between spirituality/religiosity and mental illness such as depression and anxiety. However this studies do not only mainly use samples of mentally ill individuals, as well as a widely different conceptualization of the spirituality concept which difficult the results comparison. The concept of Spiritual Well-Being integrates spirituality in health, expressing itself through the relationships quality that the individual establishes with itself (personal domain), with others (Communal), with nature (environmental) and somewhat higher than human domain (transcendental). This transversal nature study related the Spiritual Well-Being with psychopathological symptoms and global well-being measures by a linear regression. The sample was composed of 320 adults from the Portuguese general population (62.2% female; aged between 16 and 73 years (M = 42.36, SD = 14.32)). The applied questionnaires are: the Spiritual Health And Life-Orientation Measure (SHALOM; Fisher, 2010;. Gouveia et al, 2009) which measures the spiritual well-being and the Brief Symptom Inventory (Derogat, 1975; Canavarro, 1999). Overall, the results indicate that the Personal and Transcendental domain are significant predictors of most psychopathological symptoms, contributing in different ways to explain the variation of symptoms. The higher the Spiritual Well-Being levels in the Personal domain, the lower the psychopathological symptoms. The Transcendental domain assumes a direct relationship. The small sample size, the biases of the online data collection and the transversal nature of the study do not allow the generalization of these results and do not legitimate causality inferences between these variables.por
