Abstract(s)
O presente estudo é sobre a motivação para a leitura e a auto-percepção de
leitor, e teve essencialmente dois objectivos: analisar a relação entre a motivação para a
leitura e a auto-percepção de leitor; estudar o efeito da variável género na motivação
para a leitura e auto-percepção de leitor e a variável ano de escolaridade na motivação
para a leitura.
Neste estudo participaram 210 alunos de uma escola privada em Almada que
frequentavam o 2º e 3º ciclo de escolaridade, aos quais foram aplicadas duas escalas um
questionário de motivação para a leitura e a escala de auto-percepção de leitor.
Os resultados obtidos mostraram que existe uma correlação significativa entre
a motivação para a leitura e a auto-percepção de leitor sendo esta positiva e moderada.
Quanto á variável género verificou que esta tem um efeito significativo na motivação
para a leitura, e na auto-percepção de leitor, tendo – se constatado que as raparigas
apresentam níveis de motivação para a leitura e de auto-percepção de leitor mais
elevados do que os rapazes.
Em relação ao ano de escolaridade verificámos que na motivação para a leitura
existem diferenças significativas entre os alunos mais novos e os alunos mais velhos,
constatando-se um decréscimo da motivação com o aumento do ano de escolaridade.
ABSTRACT: The present study is about reading motivation and self –perception as a reader, and had two aims: Analyze the relationship between reading motivation and selfperception as a reader and study the effects of variables gender in reading motivation and self-perception as a reader and the variable grade in reading motivation. In this study participated 210 students from a privet school in Almada they were attending 2º and 3º cycle of schooling, which was applied a motivation for reading questionnaire and a self-perception as a reader scale.
