Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT: The intention of this investigation is to study the quality of attachment of children with mothers who had an history of drug abuse, and with a past of substance dependence (drug-adicttion). Its main objective inhabits in the influence that this past dependency on psycotropics substance will have in the development of the attachment between the baby and its mother. The total sample will be constituted by 8 mothers proceeding from the Prisional Establishment of Tires (Pavilion "Casa das Mães") constituted by 4 mothers with drug dependency and 4 none addicted mothers. Thus three instruments had been used (two quantitative and one qualitative) respectively, the Attachment Behaviour Q-Set developed for Waters and Deane, the Ca-Mir instrument (Instrument of the Individual Models of Relations) and a Clinical Interview. It was verified that on the level of the collected qualitative data (Clinical Interview) differences between the two groups exist. However on the level of the quality of attachment of the child (Attachment Behaviour Q-Set) and on the level of the representation of the attachment in adult (Ca-Mir) differences between the groups had not been verified.
