As mudanças sociais ocorridas em Portugal na área da violência doméstica, ao longo dos últimos 20 anos : Uma perspetiva das sobreviventes

| dc.description.abstract | Ao longo dos últimos 20 anos, muitas mudanças ocorreram na área da violência doméstica contra as mulheres. A presente dissertação pretendeu analisar a perceção de mulheres sobreviventes de violência doméstica sobre a mudança social ocorrida em Portugal nos últimos vinte anos. Como é que esta mudança social influenciou o percurso das sobreviventes, qual o seu impacto nas tomadas de decisão e qual a sua perceção sobre a eficácia dos vários serviços a que recorreram. Para responder a estas questões, foi utilizado uma metodologia qualitativa, através da realização de entrevistas a sete mulheres sobreviventes de violência doméstica, tendo-lhes sido pedido que partilhassem os seus percursos de vida e refletissem sobre o impacto das mudanças nas mesmas. Os resultados deste estudo demonstram que as mulheres sobreviventes de vio-lência doméstica não têm conhecimento sobre as diversas alterações legislativas, de procedimentos ou do investimento que tem vindo a ser realizado em Portugal nesta área. No entanto referem que houve mudanças, que encontram respostas eficazes e que se sentem mais seguras, atribuindo grande importância aos diversos serviços de apoio, sejam formais ou informais. Por outro lado, apesar dos esforços realizados, as participantes revelaram experiências de ineficácia, falta de apoio ou mesmo de culpabilização. É de salientar a importância das investigações sobre a perspetiva das sobreviven-tes, de modo a contribuir para o desenvolvimento de abordagens mais abrangentes e estratégias mais eficazes ao nível dos vários sistemas que são mobilizados nas intervenções, em situações de violência doméstica contra as mulheres. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT: Over the last 20 years, several changes occurred in the domestic violence field against women. The present dissertation intended to analyze women survivors’ percep-tion from domestic violence in Portugal’s social change which happened during the last twenty years. How this social change affected the path of the survivors, what is the im-pact in the decisions and which perception over the effectiveness of services that were consulted. In order to answer these questions, one qualitative methodology was used over the course of interviews to seven women survivors of domestic violence. They were asked to share their life’s pathway and to reflect on the impact upon the changes on their lives. The overall outcome of this research has showed that women survivors from domestic violence are unaware of the several legislatives alterations and procedures or investments that have been made in Portugal in this field. However they refer that have been made changes and that have found effective responses, attributing a great deal of importance to the different support services, whether formal or informal. On the other hand, in despite of the efforts made, the participants testified to having experienced lack of support, inefficiency and even victim blaming. In order to contribute decisively on the development of extensive approaches and more effective strategies, such as various systems that are helpful within domestic violence circumstances against women, it should be noted the importance of the investi-gations on the survivors’ perspective. | por |
