Abstract(s)
O objectivo do estudo é compreender qual a relação entre as lesões físicas provocadas
pela modalidade desportiva (futebol) e a sintomatologia depressiva no auto-conceito
físico do jogador, da teoria de Brannon, é compreensível que perante uma situação de
lesão o jogador forme expectativas. Trata-se de um acontecimento de vida stressante na
medida em que a partir do momento em que entra em processo de reabilitação, o
indivíduo perde o controlo do próprio corpo, o controlo dos diferentes campos da sua
vida, e o controlo para predizer o que lhe pode acontecer. Utilizou-se uma metodologia:
quantitativa. Aplicou-se um questionário sócio-demográfico, o Inventário de Depressão
de Beck (BDI), e a Escala de Autoconceito de Pais-Ribeiro e Luisa Ribeiro, a vinte
indivíduos jogadores de futebol semi-profissionais e amadores, de vários clubes de
futebol de três distritos do país. Os resultados quantitativos demonstram uma correlação
entre sintomatologia depressiva e o tipo de lesão, não se verificando qualquer relação
com auto-conceito físico do jogador.
