Abstract(s)
Enquadramento: A Perturbação do Espectro do Autismo consiste numa perturbação do
Método: A
Espectro do Autismo.
Conclusão: É fundamental a intervenção

It is a disorder that affects not only the mental health of its carriers, but also of caregivers and/or parents, and a better understanding of the factors that influence it is essential. Objective: To assess the impact that a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder in a child can have on the Mental Health of parents, also considering the variables of Resilience and Social Support. Method: The sample of this study consists of 234 parents with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The instruments applied were a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Mental Health Inventory, the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support and the Resilience Scale. Conclusion: Clinical intervention is essential not only in the population with this diagnosis, but also in their caregivers, as it has a huge impact on their mental health.
