A autora, ao introduzir o tema ((Dimensão Intercultural
da Escola» chama a atenção para o facto
de, na Comunidade Europeia, 10% das crianças e
jovens em idade de escolaridade obrigatória, provirem
de famílias e culturas diversas das do país que as
acolhe. Este facto, enriquecedor A partida, exige
mudanças radicais nos diferentes sistemas educativos
dos Estados Membros, para que a escola desenvolva
a capacidade de dar respostas diferenciadas e contextualizadas.
Só desta forma se pode garantir que cada
aluno mantenha a sua singularidade e evitar qualquer
tentativa massificante do acto pedagógico.
ABSTRACT: The author, when introducing the theme dntercultural Dimension in School», focuses her attention upon the diversity of the students in our days. In fact, in the European Comunity, 10% of children and young persons (at compulsory school levels) meet at school a different culture from their own. In the beginning, the diversity is a positive factor, but our educational systems aren’t prepared to integrate different students and different cultures. So, it’s necessary to improve radical changes to give each pupil an educational appropriated to their cultural features. As the author stresses this is the only way we can insure that each student should be treated accordingly and should be able to be successful at school.
