Abstract(s)
duas situações hipotéticas, de lazer e desportiva;
lazer.
This study sought to observe a group of people with learning disabilities, the relationship established between sociometric status and their self-concept. It was the subject of a study group of 21 young people with mental retardation, of both sexes, with a 1st and 3rd cycle, today entered into a program of social inclusion of people with disabilities, which includes three courses in training to integrate the labor market. To collect data on the participants used the following instruments: - a sociometric questionnaire to investigate the preferential choices that the participants perform within that group (which express the laws of friendship and popularity they have and they attach to the other participants), where two scenarios, leisure and sports; - the scale "Self-Perception Profile for Children" by Harter, to assess the participants' selfconcept, and global in its various dimensions. The data collected was done with the aid of SPSS version 17.0. The analysis of results for a p <0.05, it was not possible to define the profile of differentiated self-concept, in which certain aspects are highlighted, and between the hypothetical situations and recreational, has not yielded significant differences for the sociometric status. At the intersection of data from several variables, one for p <0.05, it was possible to draw some conclusions: the lower the popularity level of leisure is more favorable to selfperception of the subjects on the athletic competence and the tendency for individuals who have a better self-concept, academic level, are the least popular at leisure.
