Abstract(s)
A investigação presente tem como principal objectivo avaliar a relação entre o
desenvolvimento linguístico, ao nível do desenvolvimento lexical e sintáctico, o
desenvolvimento metalinguístico, ao nível da consciência morfológica e da consciência
sintáctica, e a qualidade da produção textual, ao nível da estruturação da narrativa, em
crianças do 4º ano de escolaridade. Constitui-se, nesse sentido, para o este estudo, uma
amostra de 47 crianças, todas a frequentar o 4º ano de escolaridade.
Como instrumentos foram utilizadas a Prova de Definição Verbal, a Prova de
Compreensão de Estruturas Complexas, a Prova de Reflexão Morfo-Sintáctica, a Prova
de Interpretação de Pseudo-Palavras e uma folha de critérios de avaliação das produções
textuais.
Os dados recolhidos foram submetidos a uma análise estatística através da
utilização do programa SPSS, tendo-se realizado o teste de correlação de Pearson.
Os resultados obtidos permitiram verificar a inexistência de relações entre os
aspectos estudados do desenvolvimento linguístico e a qualidade da produção textual,
bem como a existência de relações positivas e de nível médio entre os aspectos
estudados relativos ao desenvolvimento metalinguístico e a qualidade da produção
textual. Além disso, verificou-se também a existência de relações positivas entre os
diversos aspectos relativos ao desenvolvimento linguístico e os relativos ao
desenvolvimento metalinguístico, sendo essa relação mais significativa entre o
desenvolvimento lexical e o desenvolvimento da consciência morfológica e entre o
desenvolvimento sintáctico e o desenvolvimento da consciência morfológica.
ABSTRACT: This research’s main objective was to evaluate the relationship between linguistic development, on a lexical and syntactic development level, metalinguistic development, on a morphological and syntactic awareness level, and quality of textual production, on a narrative structure level, in children of the 4th grade. According to that it was constituted, for this study, a sample of 47 children, all from the 4th grade. The instruments used in this investigation were the Verbal Definition Proof, Understanding of Complex Structures Proof, Interpretation of Pseudo-Words Proof, Morpho-Syntactic Reflection Proof and a paper of criteria for the evaluation of the textual production quality. The obtained data were submitted to statistic analysis by the use of the SPSS program, performing the Pearson’s correlation test. The results allowed us to verify the inexistence of relations between the studied aspects of the linguistic development and the quality of textual production, as well as the existence of positive and medium-level relations between the studied aspects of the metalinguistic development and the quality of textual production. The results also allowed us to verify the existence of positive relations between the studied aspects of the linguistic development and the aspects studied of the metalinguistic development. That relations were more significant between the lexical development and the morphological awareness development and between the syntactic development and the syntactic awareness development.
