Abstract(s)
Uma gravidez precoce tem efeitos para a mãe, para o bebé e para a relação que se estabelece
entre eles. A interacção mãe-bebé é condicionada por vários determinantes - relativos à mãe,
ao bebé e ao contexto envolvente – que de, algum modo, influenciam a qualidade da mesma.
É consensual que a qualidade da interacção numa díade é um factor determinante para o
desenvolvimento e bem-estar geral da criança e que a gravidez e maternidade na adolescência,
muito embora não se traduza numa condição de risco para todas as mães, constitui sempre um
grande desafio para o qual a maior parte das adolescentes não se encontra preparada. Com
este trabalho pretendeu criar-se e implementar um programa de promoção de competências
parentais, destinado a uma amostra de mães adolescentes residentes numa instituição de
acolhimento, descrevendo pormenorizadamente cada participante, assim como todos os
passos desde a concepção à implementação do mesmo. Um segundo objectivo era o de
contribuir, com a implementação do programa, para uma melhoria no estilo interactivo nas
díades da amostra. No sentido de enriquecer a caracterização das díades e de avaliar mais
objectivamente os resultados do programa, aplicou-se a Escala de Auto-Estima Materna, a
Escala de Percepção Materna de Competência e o Inventário Mother-Infant Communication
Screening, antes e após a participação das mães no programa. Os resultados obtidos
revelaram-se muito heterogéneos em relação ao comportamento materno exibido. Numa das
mães constatou-se uma clara assincronia interactiva, as restantes revelam sensibilidade na
relação, com formas diferentes de adaptação.
ABSTRACT: Early pregnancy has effects on the mother, on the baby as well as on the relationship between them. The mother-infant interaction is influenced by several factors – concerning the mother, the baby and the surrounding context - which, somehow, affect its quality of it. It is generally accepted that the quality of interaction in a dyad is a key factor in the development and wellbeing of the child and that pregnancy and motherhood in adolescence, although it does not result in a risk condition for all mothers, is always a great challenge for which most adolescents are not yet prepared. This work intended to create and implement a program to promote parenting skills, for a sample of adolescent mothers living in an institution, characterizing each participant, and all program phases from design to implementation. A second goal was to contribute, through the implementation of the program, to an improvement in the interactive style in dyads in the sample. In order to complete the characterization of the dyads and to evaluate, more objectively, the results of the program we used the Maternal Self- Report Inventory, the Scale of Perceived Maternal Competence and the Mother-Infant Communication Screening, before and after the participation of mothers in the program. The results proved to be very heterogeneous in relation to maternal behaviour displayed. In one of the mothers we found a clear interactive asynchrony, the others show sensitivity in the relationship with different modes of adaptation.
