membros do casal, geralmente o toxicodependente.
qualidade do relacionamento.
entrevista.
ABSTRACT: The problem of this thesis’s project concerns the analysis and understanding of love, specifically the dynamics of romantic love in romantic relationships of drug addicts. This investigation will be conducted using a psychodynamic understanding. Several studies found that marital dynamics between alcoholic couples was confrontational and that in many households consumers moved away from the marital system, focusing on themselves and on their family of origin. Thus, the dynamics of these couples is affected, with a divestment of one of the spouses, usually the addict. This dynamic is described in the literature as being very fragile, in various areas of marital functioning (e.g., Anglin, Kao, Harlow, Peters, & Booth, 1987; Kosten, Jalali, Steidl, Kleber, cit. by Fals-Stewart & Birchler, 1998). These studies also show that couples are significantly dissatisfied with their relationship, and that the interests they had in common almost radically changed in several areas of marital functioning, influencing the quality of the relationship. These couples are using dysfunctional methods to manage conflicts, trying several times to end the relationship. This study aims to achieve a deeper and more specific knowledge of love, the origin of love, its characteristics, as well as to understand the dynamics of a relationship of the addict, how it is maintained and what leads to fail. The participants represent a sample of six male elements, aged forty-five and sixty. All participants are addicts in treatment. Data collection is done through semi-structured interviews whose questions will be presented in a free order and refer to a subject linked to the problem under study. The interviews will be conducted in two phases with an interval of one week. Initially, participants meet the researcher and the subject to be addressed and it is expected that during the interval of one week they work out the contents narrated for a second interview stage.
