Neste trabalho, a autora estabelece dois objectivos.
Por um lado, apresentar um breve historial dos principais
procedimentos de treino ou aconselhamento parental,
assim como conclusões mais significativas do
estudo desenvolvimentista das crenças de pais. Por
outro lado, definir um modelo alternativo, de cariz
construtivista e dialéctico, visando o desenvolvimento
das crenças ou significações parentais, subjacentes
a acções educacionais adaptativas e eficazes.
ABSTRACT: In this article the author follows two goals. On one side, to present a brief history of the main procedures of parent training and counseling, as well as the conclusions of the most relevant developmental research on parent beliefs. On the other side, to define as alternative, a constructivist and diaiecticai model, aiming at the development of parent beliefs and meanings, underlying adaptative and effective educational atitudes.
