| dc.description.abstract | A vinculação constitui-se como um forte laço afetivo entre a criança e a sua principal figura de vinculação, sendo esta ligação normalmente estabelecida com a figura materna. A teoria da vinculação surge como um dos modelos conceptuais mais apropriados para compreender o processo de regulação emocional, tendo em conta que as interações estabelecidas entre a criança e o cuidador são promotoras de sentimentos de segurança e bem-estar. Desta forma, o desenvolvimento destas competências de autorregulação acaba por permitir uma adequada adaptação ao contexto, favorecendo a compreensão empática das experiências dos outros. O presente estudo teve como objetivo analisar e compreender a relação entre a vinculação, a regulação emocional e a empatia. Desta forma, foi utilizada uma amostra composta por 43 crianças, com idades compreendidas entre os quatro e os seis anos. Foram aplicados três instrumentos de forma a avaliar as variáveis: Attachment Story Completion Task- ASCT (Bretherton et al., 1990), Emotion Regulation Checklist- ERC (Shields & Cichetti, 1997) e Kids Empathic Development Scale- KEDS (Reid et al., 2013). Os resultados demonstraram que existe uma associação entre a vinculação e a regulação emocional bem como entre a vinculação e a empatia afetiva, indicando que crianças com padrões de vinculação seguros tendem a demonstrar maior facilidade de regulação emocional e maior capacidade empática afetiva. | dc.description.abstract | Attachment constitutes a strong emotional bond between the child and their primary Attachment figure, which is usually the mother. Attachment theory emerges as one of the most appropriate conceptual models for understanding the process of emotional regulation, given that interactions between children and caregivers promote feelings of security and well-being. Therefore, the development of these self-regulation skills ultimately allows for adequate adaptation to the contexto, favouring empathic understanding of others experiences. The presente study aimed to analyse and understand the relationship between attachment, emotional regulation and empathy. A sample of 43 children aged between four and six years old was used. Three instruments were applied to assess the variables: Attachment Story Completion Task- ASCT (Bretherton et al., 1990), Emotion Regulation Checklist- ERC (Shields & Cichetti, 1997) and Kids Empathic Development Scale- KEDS (Reid et al., 2013). The results showed that there is na association between attachment and emotional regulation, as well as between attachment and affective empathy, indicating that children with secure attachment patterns tend to demonstrate greater emotional regulation and greater affective empathy. Gender diferences were also observed in the dimensions of attachment and emotional regulation. | eng |
