Abstract(s)
Psicológico para Mulheres (MPES-SO).
ABSTRACT: This study focuses on the relationship between the attachment styles present in women and their level of empowerment, since female empowerment is an essential tool for capacity building and conscious decision-making, and women are still the target of gender inequality in various areas. Bearing in mind that the areas in which women experience these gender inequalities are diverse, with varying degrees of impact on their daily lives, it should be emphasised that within these inequalities there are still crimes of gender-based violence in which women are the majority of the population most affected. The quantitative method was used in a convenience sample of 409 participants, using the Adult Attachment Scale (AAS) and the Multicultural Psychological Empowerment Scale for Women (MPES-SO). The data were collected via online social networks. The findings suggest that levels of empowerment are shaped by attachment style, with secure attachments associated with higher levels of empowerment and insecure attachments linked to lower levels of empowerment. With regard to the socio-demographic data, only the variable of marital status demonstrated significant differences, indicating a correlation between the level of empowerment and the various marital statuses, as well as between the different attachment styles and the varying levels of empowerment. It is noteworthy that married women exhibited the highest level of empowerment.
