A consciência e fonológica e morfológica têm sido associadas com o desempenho ortográfico.
Pretende-se neste estudo analisar o modo como as duas competências metalinguísticas estão
relacionadas com a natureza dos erros ortográficos cometidos por crianças do 2º e 4º anos e clarificar
a natureza da ligação entre a consciência morfológica e fonológica e os erros em palavras com regras
contextuais, erros em palavras associadas a regras morfológicas e erros em palavras regulares. Os
resultados apontam para correlações significativas negativas e moderadas entre a consciência
fonológica e os três tipos de erros. As mesmas correlações foram encontradas entre a consciência
morfológica e os erros associados às restrições contextuais e morfológicas, não tendo sido encontrado
nenhuma relação com erros estritamente fonéticos.
Research carried out in several orthographies confirmed the influence of phonological and morphological awareness in orthographic performance. Our aim is to analyse how phonological and morphological awareness are connected with different types of orthographic misspelling of 2nd and 4th grade children and clarify the nature of the relation between phonological and morphological awareness and misspelling on words with contextual restrictions misspelling on words with morphological restrictions and misspelling on regular words.
