Abstract(s)
O presente estudo teve como objetivo perceber se o conflito trabalho-família e o conflito família-trabalho mediavam a relação entre o suporte organizacional e familiar e a satisfação com a vida, bem como analisar as diferenças entre grupos sociodemográficos. Para o realizar, recolheu-se uma amostra por conveniência de 258 participantes a trabalhar atualmente em Portugal. Os resultados obtidos permitiram concluir que tanto o suporte organizacional como o suporte familiar influenciam positivamente a satisfação com a vida, sendo que apenas o conflito trabalho-família medeia a relação entre o suporte organizacional e a satisfação com a vida. Estes resultados sugerem que o suporte organizacional e o conflito trabalho-família têm um impacto mais significativo na satisfação com a vida do que o suporte familiar e o conflito família-trabalho. Mais estudos são necessários para entender melhor esta relação. É de destacar ainda que são os participantes com filhos que apresentam níveis mais elevados de conflito família-trabalho, enquanto os participantes solteiros sentem menores níveis de suporte familiar e de satisfação com a vida. Este estudo revela-se especialmente pertinente para as organizações, ao demonstrar o impacto da perceção de suporte organizacional na satisfação dos colaboradores e na perceção de conflito trabalho-família, contribuindo igualmente para o debate académico e social em torno da conciliação entre vida profissional e pessoal.
The present study aimed to examine whether work-family conflict and family-work conflict mediate the relationship between organizational and family support and life satisfaction, as well as to analyse differences across sociodemographic groups. A convenience sample of 258 participants currently working in Portugal was collected. The results showed that both organizational and family support positively influence life satisfaction, however, only work-family conflict was found to mediate the relationship between organizational support and life satisfaction. These findings suggest that organizational support and work-family conflict have a more significant impact on life satisfaction than family support and family-work conflict. Further research is needed to better understand this relationship. It is also worth noting that participants with children reported higher levels of family-work conflict, while single participants reported lower levels of family support and life satisfaction. This study is particularly relevant for organizations, as it highlights the impact of perceived organizational support on employee life satisfaction and experiences of work-family conflict, while also contributing to the academic and social discussion on work–life balance.
