O vírus da Imunodeficiência Humana tem sido objecto de variadíssimos trabalhos de
investigação. Contudo, poucos estudos têm sido feitos tendo por base a Parentalidade
neste contexto particular. Assim, esta investigação surge com o objectivo de
compreender de que forma o facto de um dos pais ser seropositivo pode influenciar
positiva ou negativamente, as ligações afectivas que estabelece com os filhos, ou seja, o
vínculo que estabelecem enquanto pais. Este estudo teórico pretende essencialmente
responder à questão fundamental de saber se “existem diferenças na relação que os pais
seropositivos estabelecem com os seus filhos após terem conhecimento do diagnóstico
de VIH? e “quais são essas diferenças?” O papel do segredo e a sua influência na
relação de vinculação foi um outro aspecto a ser considerado na investigação. A
amostra, recolhida no Hospital de Joaquim Urbano, é constituída por 21 pais de ambos
os sexos, com recurso a instrumentos: Escala de Vinculação do Adulto (EVA),
questionário sócio - demográfico e uma entrevista semi-estruturada.
Dos nossos resultados destacamos que 57.1% dos pais alteraram o relacionamento com
os filhos após terem conhecimento do diagnóstico. Concluímos que a alteração da
relação pais - filhos após conhecimento do diagnóstico diferencia positivamente o
conforto com a proximidade entre ambos.
ABSTRACT: The human immunodeficiency virus has been subject to widely varying research. However, few studies have been done based on the parenting in this particular context. So this research comes with the aim of understanding how the fact that a parent be hiv positive can influence positively or negatively the emocional bonds they establish with ther sons, in other words, how establishing the bond as parents. This study essentially seeks to answer the fundamental question of if “are differences in the relationship that parents hiv positive establish with their children after knowing the diagnosis? and “what are these differences?” The role of secret and its influence on the attachment relationship was another aspect to be considered in research. The sample was collected in Hospital de Joaquim Urbano, consisted by 21 parents of boths sexes, with resource to instruments: Adult Attachment Scale (EVA), sociodemographic questionnaire and one semistructured interview. From our results we detach que 57.1% of parents changed the relathionsip with the sons after knowing the diagnosis. Conclude that the change of the parent – sons after knowing the diagnosis positively differentiates the comfort with closeness between both.
