Abstract(s)
A transfobia e a cisnormatividade são conceitos discriminatórios atuais e frequentemente
presentes e referenciados, no entanto a literatura e investigação relativamente à população
enraizadas e a resistência à mudança, a masculinidade tradicional e a hétero-cis-normatividade.
ABSTRACT: Transphobia and cisnormativity are current discriminatory concepts that are often present and referenced, but the literature and research on the Portuguese population lacks depth (Gato, 2022). Both concepts are based on discriminatory attitudes and segregation with a constant negative influence on the LGBTQI community (Bettcher, 2014). In order to better understand transphobic and cisnormative attitudes, this project aims to analyze whether sociodemographic factors such as age, gender and sexual orientation influence the levels of transphobic and cisnormative attitudes in the Portuguese community. The data to be investigated was collected by sharing a survey online, which included a sociodemographic questionnaire and the Genderism and Transphobia scale. For the treatment and analysis of the data, different statistical tests were administered in the SPSS statistical program, such as Kruskal - Wallis and Simple Linear Regression. The results were in line with the literature in that they showed a rise in transphobic and cisnormative attitudes with advancing age, the gender that showed the highest levels of transphobic and cisnormative attitudes was male and the sexual orientation group that stood out with the highest levels of transphobic and cisnormative attitudes was the heterosexual orientation group. The literature suggests justifications such as entrenched conservative social norms and resistance to change, traditional masculinity and hetero-cis-normativity.
