Abstract(s)
The main objective of this study is to verify which motivational profile(s) is(are) related to the Job Search Behavior and if there are any statistically significant differences related to the variables "Sex" and "Educational Qualifications", considering the Self-Determination Theory. For this purpose, 5 research questions were defined for which the answers came from a questionnaire made available to a sample of 205 participants, of which 114 were female and 91 were male, aged between 21 and 61 years old and with different backgrounds and from different professional sectors. As a condition, they would have to search for an employment at least once. The results obtained show that there are no statistically significant differences between male and female individuals at the level of the Job Search Behavior variable. Nonetheless, those differences are statistically significant for individuals with different educational qualifications. As for the relationship between motivation and Job Search Behavior, both employed and unemployed participants revealed a clear trend toward the External Social Motivation and Amotivation dimensions, as the former also lean to an Identified Motivation.
