Abstract(s)
do funcionamento do psiquismo.
as eventuais falhas no desenvolvimento precoce do psiquismo, poderão influenciar a imagem do
corpo.
ABSTRACT: The body image has been a topic of research in different areas of knowledge, however, there is a lack of conceptual consensus regarding the delimitation of the concept. This article, aims to explore the diversity of conceptualizations of body image according to psychoanalytic perspective of the phenomenon. Although there is a lack of agreement in the construct, there are similarities regarding the psychic processes underlying the construction of the body image. Primary relational experiences are emphasized in the development of internal representation. In order to understand the development of body image in psychosis, Bion’s conceptualizations of thought and psychic processes are used. It is also introduced a brief allusion to the development process described by Winnicott and Anzieu. According to Bion’s theoretical framework, the development of mental diseases has its origin in two factors: innate characteristics of the baby (e.g., low tolerance to frustration, hatred, fear of imminent annihilation) and the flaws in early motherinfant relationship (e.g., mother’s inability to perform the rêverie function). It is also described some symptoms in psychotic patients related to body and finally an analysis of the possible flaws in the early psyche development, and how it may influence the body image.
