Abstract(s)
maioria eram estudantes, 29 do género masculino, e 31 do género feminino.
ABSTRACT: The area of autobiographical memories is fairly recent in relation to the scientific literature, especially when compared with early maladaptive schemas and attachment styles. Furthermore, there is also a weak theoretical and scientific relating to gender differences in this area. Thus, the aim of this investigation is to relate these three variables described above noticing whether there is a difference between men and women in the recall of autobiographical memories. The sample consisted of 60 participants, most of which were students, 29 were males, and 31 females. To obtain data, participants filled a range of questionnaires consisting of: a Questionnaire Sample Characterization, the Beck Depression Inventory, Psychopathological Symptoms Inventory, the State Trait Anxiety Inventory and the Young Schema Questionnaire. In addition to these questionnaires, they accomplished also the task of Autobiographical Memory. No differences between men and women with respect to the valence and type of memory recalled, nor the influence exerted by Attachment Styles and Early Maladaptive Schemas were found.
