Abstract(s)
anos (M=29). Foram utilizados os questionários Spontaneity Assement Inventory (SAI-R)
(Kipper & Hundal, 2005) e Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) (Santos & Maia, 2003).
ABSTRACT: The aim was to study the correlation between spontaneity and self-esteem. This work is exploratory, quantitative and correlational. The sample consisted of 216 subjects with a convenience sampling, aged between 18 and 58 years (M = 29). The questionnaires that were used were: Spontaneity Assessement Inventory (SAI-R) (Kipper & Hundal, 2005) and Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) (Santos & Maia, 2003). There was a significant and positive correlation between these constructs. The socio-demographic variable gender does not affect significantly the spontaneity or self-esteem. The conclusions reached in this study are compatible with the assumption by most theoretical statements which address the issue.
