Vivências da sexualidade num paciente com lesão vertebro-medular : estudo de caso

A presente investigação tem por finalidade melhorar a compreensão da vivência sexual sentida por um adulto com Lesão Vértebro-Medular (L.V.M.). Com este estudo pretendemos reflectir sobre a forma como são vivenciados os problemas emocionais e afectivos, vividos por adultos com Lesão Vértebro-Medular. Para tal, estabeleceram-se os seguintes objectivos: perceber de que forma é vivida a relação com o outro, tendo em conta a L.V.M. e compreender de que maneira é organizada toda a vida do sujeito, após a lesão adquirida.
No projecto de investigação, participou um sujeito com lesão há sete meses e que se encontrava em internamento no Centro de Alcoitão há cerca de três meses.
O instrumento utilizado foi a Escala de Diagnóstico Psicanalítico, que nos permite esclarecer a realidade psíquica do paciente, quer no que diz respeito à estrutura do seu Eu, à natureza das identificações projectivas, quer ao nível estrutural das defesas usadas frente à ansiedade persecutória, bem como à qualidade das suas ansiedades depressivas. Por outro lado, foi também aplicada parte do questionário de Bruce Thomason, “Marital Adjustement Check – Listfor the Disabled”, versão traduzida para Português (Questionário de Ajustamento Conjugal para pessoas com Deficiência Adquirida; Oliveira, Tenreiro, Paixão, Tenreiro, Lains & André, 1998). No entanto, não foi possível utilizar esse questionário na íntegra, visto a amostra da minha investigação se tratar de um sujeito desligado de qualquer relacionamento conjugal, o que, no questionário em questão, não é discutido, pois a população a quem esse questionário se dirige trata-se de pessoas com um relacionamento conjugal. Pretendeu-se com a aplicação deste questionário analisar áreas da sexualidade como satisfação e comportamento, sentimentos e problemas sexuais.
A temática da Sexualidade é, portanto, um assunto de grande importância para a população com L.V.M., considerando-se uma patologia com diversas implicações na esfera sexual.
ABSTRACT: This research aims to get a finest understanding of the sexual experiencing lived by an adult with a Spinal Cord Injury (S. C. I.). With this study, we pretend to think about the way how the emotional and affective problems are experienced by adults suffering a Spinal Cord Injury. With such a purpose we set the following goals: to understand how the relation with the other is lived, considering the S. C. I. and to comprehend how the whole life of the subject is organized, after the acquired injury. In this research project we had the participation of one subject suffering this kind of injury from seven months on and in-patient at Centro de Alcoitão from three months on. The instrument that has been used was the Psychoanalytical Scale of Diagnosis which allows to enlighten the psychic reality of the patient, both respecting the structure of the Self, the nature of the projective identifications, the structural level of the defences used before the persecutory anxiety, as well as the quality of his/her depressive anxieties. It was also applied part of Bruce Thomason’s questionnaire, “Marital Adjustment Check – List for the Disabled”, the Portuguese version (Questionário de Ajustamento Conjugal para Pessoas com Deficiência Adquirida; Oliveira, Tenreiro, Paixão, Tenreiro, Lains & André, 1998). However, it was not possible to apply this questionnaire integrally because the sample of this research was a subject with no marital relationship, situation that is not discussed in this questionnaire that is addressed to people with a marital relationship. With the application of this questionnaire we wanted to analyse some areas of the sexuality, such as satisfaction and behaviour, feelings and sexual problems.
