Abstract(s)
nosológico de perturbação estado-limite da personalidade aplicado à adolescência;
for DSM-IV Borderline Personality Disorder de Mary Zanarini (2003); Millon
Adolescent Clinical Inventory (Tradução Experimental de Alexandra Anciães, 2004);
This research aims to describe and characterize the nosological framework of borderline personality disorder applied to adolescents, understanding the perception of attachment in these teenagers and the distinction of possible clinical and symptomatic manifestations associated with it. The sample includes forty adolescents, attended in a Mental Health Unit for children and adolescents, within the diagnosis of borderline personality disorder already made. The sample of caregivers is made by thirty-nine mothers and twelve fathers, forming a total of fifty-one individuals. In this study the following instruments were used: Childhood Interview for DSMIV Borderline Personality Disorder by Mary Zanarini (2003); Millon Adolescent Clinical Inventory (Experimental Translation by Alexandra Anciães, 2004), Inventory of Attachment for Children and Adolescents by Marina Carvalho, Isabel Soares and Américo Baptista (2006). It was concluded that the majority of young participants has insecure perception of attachment (55%). From these individuals, 36.4% has an avoidant perception of attachment and 63.6% presented preoccupied perception. Analyzing the characteristics of personality in the three groups of binding, we have found the existence of symptomatic manifestations of externalizing in adolescents with secure attachment; symptomatic manifestations of both internalizing and externalizing in preoccupied adolescents and the predominance of internalizing aspects in the avoidant group. The instrument used, by this investigation, to characterize the personality, shown to be effective, allowing the distinction between symptoms and clinical manifestations of BPD and allows the organization of different subgroups with the same diagnosis but different characteristics.
