Abstract(s)
A presente investigação tem como objectivo analisar o impacto que os tratamentos do
cancro, (cirurgia, quimioterapia, radioterapia e hormonoterapia), têm na função sexual e na
imagem corporal da mulher com cancro da mama, estudar as diferenças do impacto da
radioterapia e da hormonoterapia na imagem corporal da mulher, em função das variáveis
sócio-demográficas.
A amostra é constituída por 100 mulheres, que estão a realizar ou que foram
submetidas a tratamentos para o cancro da mama, dívidas em grupos de 25 mulheres pelos
quatro tipos de tratamento.
No estudo são utilizados três diferentes instrumentos, (1) questionário de
caracterização sócio-demográfica, (2) Índice de Funcionamento Sexual Feminino (FSFI)
(Rosen et al., 2000; tradução e adaptação de Pedro Nobre, 2002) e (3) escala “Como me
Relaciono com o meu Corpo” (Palhinhas, P., Tapadinhas A., & Ribeiro, J., 2000).
ABSTRACT: This research aims to analyze the impact that treatments for cancer (surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and hormone therapy), have on sexual function and body image of women with breast cancer, and study the differences of the impact of radiotherapy and hormone therapy on women's body image, according to the socio-demographic variables. The sample consists of 100 women, who are undertaking or who have undergone treatment for breast cancer, claims in groups of 25 women for four types of treatment.
