Teste de um modelo multivariado preditor de comportamentos sexuais de risco em adultos idosos portugueses

Tomando como ponto de partida o aumento do número de casos de adultos idosos infectados pelo VIH/SIDA, o presente estudo procurou agrupar informações acerca do grau de conhecimento face ao VIH/SIDA, atitudes sexuais e comportamentos sexuais de risco numa amostra de 100 sujeitos infectados pelo VIH/SIDA (M=65 anos) e 100 sujeitos não infectados (M=75 anos). Procurou perceber-se se o facto de se estar ou não infectado pelo VIH/SIDA influencia as dimensões mencionadas. Para tal, testou-se um Modelo Multivariado Preditor de Comportamentos Sexuais de Risco (MMPCSR) em adultos idosos, para o qual foram necessários dois estudos. Um primeiro, em que se procedeu à validação da Escala de Atitudes Sexuais (Alferes, 1994) (Análise Factorial Confirmatória) e constatou-se a relevância das dimensões Comunhão e Permissividade para representar as atitudes sexuais dos adultos idosos. Num segundo estudo, testou-se, então, o MMPCSR, que contemplou o efeito da variável Grupo (com e sem VIH/SIDA) sobre as variáveis Grau de Conhecimento face à infecção pelo VIH/SIDA, Permissividade e Comportamentos Sexuais de Risco. Os resultados obtidos indicaram que o Grupo é um bom preditor destas três variáveis.
ABSTRACT------Considering the increased number of cases of older adults infected by HIV/AIDS, this study tried to group information about degree of knowledge about HIV/AIDS, sexual attitudes and sexual risk behaviors in a sample of 100 persons infected by HIV/AIDS (M=65 years) and 100 persons non infected (M=75 years). We tried to understand how the refereed dimensions could be influenced by the fact of been infected or not with HIV/AIDS. For that purpose, it was tested a Preditor Multivariate Model of Sexual Risk Behaviors (PMMSRB) in older adults, for which two studies were needed. A first, where it was proceeded the validation of the Sexual Attitudes Scale (Alferes, 1994) (Confirmational Factorial Analysis) and it was found that the dimensions Communion and Permissiveness were important to represent the older adults‟ sexual attitudes. In a second study it was tested the PMMSRB, which aimed the analysis of the effect of the Group variable (with or without HIV/AIDS) on the variables Degree of Knowledge about HIV/AIDS, Permissiveness and Sexual Risk Behaviors. The results indicated that the Group was a good predictor of these tree variables.
