Abstract(s)
O presente relatório apresenta um estudo sobre a participação ativa das crianças em idade PréEscolar. O estudo foi desenvolvido numa sala de Jardim de Infância com um grupo de vinte e
quatro crianças com idades compreendidas entre os 3 e 6 anos.
Através da realização deste estudo, procurou-se conhecer as conceções da educadora
cooperante e respetivo grupo, alusivas à prática de participação ativa, tais como os obstáculos e
estratégias na sua mobilização. Assim, o objetivo foi compreender a importância da participação
das crianças no jardim de infância, como é concebida, concretizada e vivenciada e que fatores a
podem condicionar.
O presente estudo é de cariz qualitativo e recorreu-se a técnicas e instrumentos como a
observação, fundamentada através das notas de campo, a análise documental, as entrevistas
realizadas às educadoras cooperantes e uma entrevista informal realizada às crianças que
pertenciam à sala onde o estudo foi desenvolvido.
Os resultados revelaram que as educadoras valorizavam a participação ativa das crianças como
um elemento indispensável nas suas práticas através do respeito pelas necessidades e singularidades
das crianças, envolvendo-as nas rotinas e nas decisões do seu processo de aprendizagem; a
utilização de instrumentos de pilotagem; a partilha de responsabilidade entre adultos-crianças e
entre as próprias crianças. Importa ressalvar a necessidade de as crianças terem consciência do seu
papel e se sentirem apoiadas e independentes. Assim, o papel do adulto é determinante através da
sua observação atenta, podendo oferecer suporte e incentivar a participação das crianças.
ABSTRACT: This report presents a study regarding the active participation of preschool children. The study was conducted in a kindergarten room with a group of twenty-four children aged between 3 and 6 years old. Through this study we aimed to understand the kindergarten teacher’s and children’s conceptions, referring to the practice of active participation, as well as the obstacles and strategies in its implementation. Thus, the aim was to understand the importance of child participation in kindergarten, how it is conceived, implemented and experienced and what factors may condition it. This is a qualitative study using techniques and instruments such as observation, field notes, document analysis, interview with the kindergarten teachers, and an informal interview with the children from the room where the study was carried out. The results revealed that the kindergarten teachers valued the active participation of children and considered it as an indispensable element in their practices through respect for the children's needs and singularities, involving them in routines and decisions in their learning process; the use of piloting tools; the sharing of responsibility between adult-children and among the children themselves. It is important to emphasize the need for children to be aware of their role and to feel supported and independent. Thus, the role of the adult is determinant, since through his/her attentive observation, being able to support and encourage the children's participation.
