Abstract(s)
As restrições sociais ocorridas durante o segundo confinamento devido à Covid-19 têm
do presente estudo.
confinamento: Three Factor Eating Questionnaire-R21 (TFEQ-R21), Índice de Funcionamento
The social restrictions that occurred during the second lockdown due to Covid-19 influenced eating styles and sexual functioning. However, there is no literature showing that changes in one domain are associated with changes in the other, although some studies point towards a possible relationship. The main aim of the present study was to investigate whether the eating styles and sexual functioning of residents in Portugal during the second lockdown were interrelated. The population sample was composed by 618 participants (518 women and 100 men), including a subsample of individuals who had sexual intercourse during the second lockdown (359 individuals; 296 women and 63 men). A sociodemographic questionnaire was applied and the following instruments were adapted to be responded to with a visual analogue scale to detect changes during the second lockdown: Three Factor Eating Questionnaire-R21 (TFEQ-R21), Female Sexual Functioning Index (FSFI), Female Sexual Distress Scale (FSDSR), International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF), and a question about the ease of controlling ejaculation. In females, the results showed that a reduction in satisfaction and desire, and an increase in sexual distress, were associated with a worsening of emotional eating and uncontrolled eating. In males, a reduction in capacity to have orgasm was associated with an increase in uncontrolled eating. On average, sexual functioning in both genders improved during the second lockdown. There were statistically significant changes in eating styles, but not very significant in women. No significant changes were registered in men.For women and men, loneliness increased significantly
