Nos últimos anos, temos vindo a experienciar um aumento do número de indivíduos que
escolhem trabalhar de forma independente em regime de trabalho remoto. Muitos, viajando
enquanto trabalham e experienciando momentos que seriam de outra forma impossíveis. A
literatura organizacional demonstra-nos que esses trabalhadores sentem uma maior satisfação
com o trabalho, assim como uma percepção maior de bem-estar. Por outro lado, no último ano
assistimos a um fenômeno mundial devido à pandemia onde milhões de indivíduos se viram
forçados a trabalhar em regime de teletrabalho. Neste sentido, o presente estudo avaliou a
percepção de bem-estar e satisfação com o trabalho entre trabalhadores independentes e
trabalhadores dependentes em regime de teletrabalho. Os resultados provenientes dos 170
participantes indicam que trabalhadores independentes em trabalho remoto experienciam uma
maior satisfação com o trabalho e uma maior perceção de bem-estar emocional do que
trabalhadores dependentes. Por outro lado, os resultados indicam que os trabalhadores
dependentes possuem uma maior perceção do bem-estar no trabalho remoto, um maior
equilíbrio entre o trabalho e o não-trabalho, assim como uma maior eficácia.
Estes resultados são subsequentemente discutidos tendo em conta a literatura organizacional
sobre satisfação e bem-estar.
In recent years, we have been experiencing an increase in the number of individuals who choose to work independently in a remote work setting.Many, by traveling the world while working and experiencing moments that would otherwise be impossible. The organizational literature demonstrates that these workers feel higher satisfaction with their life, higher satisfaction with work, as well as a higher perception of wellbeing. On the other hand, during the last year we have seen a worldwide phenomenon due to the pandemic, where millions of individuals have been forced to work from home. In this sense, the present study assessed the perception of emotional wellbeing and satisfaction with work among self-employed and employed workers in remote work. The results from the 170 participants indicate that self-employed workers in a remote setup experience higher satisfaction with work and a higher perception of emotional wellbeing than employed workers. On the other hand, the results indicate that employed workers experience a higher perception of wellbeing in a remote setup, a higher work-life balance and a higher efficiency at work. These results are subsequently discussed taking into account the organizational literature on satisfaction and wellbeing.
