Teatro playback: Conectando o grupo através das histórias

O Teatro Playback (TP) é um tipo de teatro de improvisação baseado em narrativas cujo
potencial tem vindo a ser descrito a nível da transformação pessoal e processo grupal. De igual
forma, as Terapias de Grupo são descritas na literatura como sendo um instrumento facilitador de
transformação terapêutica.
O estudo assentou sobre uma metodologia qualitativa iniciada no ISPA em 2018, com
recurso à análise temática de um guião de entrevista semi-estruturada feito a 9 participantes de 12
sessões de Teatro Playback (TP) com frequência semanal. O objetivo foi explorar a presença de
características terapêuticas que possam ajudar a iluminar o território comum entre o TP e a
Psicologia Clínica, em particular a aplicada a grupos.
Da análise realizada, identificaram-se 3 temas: o grupo; as narrativas e as aplicações,
divididos em 15 subtemas com bidirecionalidade entre os mecanismos de grupo e a construção e
vivência das narrativas. Os resultados são congruentes com a literatura sublinhando presença de
potenciais terapêuticos e benefícios de saúde mental numa intervenção deste género.
ABSTRACT: Playback Theatre is a type of improvisational theatre that's based on narratives whose potential has been being described at the level of personal transformation and group process. Similarly, Group Therapies are described in literature as an instrument for facilitating therapeutic change. This study is based on a qualitative methodology which began in ISPA in 2018, resorting to thematic analysis of a script from a semi-structured interview, applied to 9 participants in 12 Playback Theatre sessions, taking place weekly. The goal was to explore the presence of therapeutic characteristics that may help illuminate the common space between Playback Theatre and Clinical Psychology, particularly when applied to groups. In the analysis, 3 themes were identified: the group, narratives and applications, divided in 15 sub-topics with bidirectional effect for the group mechanisms and the construction and experience of said narratives. The results are consistent with the existing literature, underlining the presence of therapeutic potential and the mental health benefits in an intervention of this kind.
