Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT: The purpose of this study is to know if the use of social media can influence the well-being of workers. There were involved 206 individuals, workers from several organizations, who voluntarily answered to a questionnaire online. In this questionnaire, there were questions related with the type of use in the social media, how often people use them, the device they use as well as whether the work place allows its use or has some kind of restrictions. The well-being was measured through the Portuguese version of the Engagement scale Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) by Schaufeli and Bakker (2003). The results of this study, including the influence of the sociodemographic characteristics of the participants, show that in general participants do not feel harmed by the use of social networks on their work place and found a positive relation with well-being.
