Abstract(s)
A presente investigação visa aprofundar o conhecimento no que diz respeito à relação
entre as variáveis Cooperação, Engagement e Desempenho, em contexto organizacional. Assim,
este estudo tem como principal objetivo averiguar (1) se a Cooperação Organizacional se
relaciona positivamente com o Desempenho Individual e (2) se o Engagement no Trabalho exerce
um efeito mediador, na relação entre Cooperação Organizacional e Desempenho Individual.
A amostra (N=320) foi obtida de uma população de organizações caracterizadas por
equipas interdependentes.
Relativamente às escalas, após as análises efetuadas, foram identificadas duas
dimensões na escala da Cooperação Organizacional (Condicionada e Incondicionada), em relação à
escala do Engagement no trabalho e à escala do Desempenho Individual, verificou-se que são
constituídas por apenas um fator (unidimensionais).
Os resultados evidenciaram que existe uma relação positiva e significativa entre
Cooperação Organizacional (tanto Condicionada como Incondicionada) e o Desempenho Individual.
No entanto, não se comprovou a existência do efeito de mediação do Engagement na relação
entre a Cooperação Organizacional (tanto Condicionada como Incondicionada) e o Desempenho
Individual.
Implicações e limitações do presente estudo, bem como sugestões futuras, são
discutidas.
ABSTRACT: This investigation aims to generate greater knowledge regarding the relationship between variables Cooperation, Engagement and Performance, in organizational context. Thus, this study aims to find out (1) if the Organizational Cooperation is positively related to the Individual Performance and (2) if the Work Engagement has a mediating effect on the relationship between Organizational Cooperation and Individual Performance. The sample (N = 320) was obtained from a population of organizations characterized by interdependent teams. Concerning scales, after the tests performed, two dimensions have been identified in the scale of Organizational Cooperation (Conditional and Unconditional), in relation to the scale of Work Engagement and the scale of Individual Performance, it was found that are formed by only one factor (one-dimensional). The results showed that, there is a positive and significant relationship between Organizational Cooperation (Conditional and Unconditional) and the Individual Performance. However, it was not proved the existence of Engagement mediation effect, on the relationship between Organizational Cooperation (Conditional and Unconditional) and the Individual Performance. Implications and limitations of the present study, as well as directions for future research, are discussed.
