BDSM à portuguesa: Construção e validação de um questionário sobre fantasias e atividades kinky e bdsm em adultos portugueses

Abstract(s)
As práticas sexuais consideradas não convencionais, incluindo dinâmicas kinky e BDSM,
apresentam uma elevada prevalência. Contudo, os estudos utilizam muitas vezes instrumentos ad
hoc e/ou dependem da autoidentificação dos participantes em BDSM, levando a resultados
inconsistentes e dificultando a sua coesão. O presente estudo pretende, assim, colmatar estas
lacunas através do desenvolvimento e validação do Inventário de Fantasias e Atividades Kinky e
BDSM (IFAKBDSM), bem como caracterizar estas práticas em adultos portugueses. O
IFAKBDSM foi desenvolvido com base em dois instrumentos pré-existentes e na discussão com
investigadores, psicólogos e indivíduos com práticas kinky. Posteriormente, dois estudos avaliaram
as suas propriedades psicométricas. O primeiro envolveu uma Análise Fatorial Exploratória com
260 adultos portugueses (18–72 anos; M = 29), e o segundo uma Análise Fatorial Confirmatória
com 515 adultos portugueses (18–79 anos; M = 30), avaliando ainda a prevalência de práticas
kinky e BDSM e comparando-as entre participantes do género feminino e masculino. A análise da
estrutura fatorial identificou quatro fatores consistentes com a literatura: Dominação e Sadismo,
Submissão e Masoquismo, Voyeurismo e Exibicionismo, e Fetichismo. O segundo estudo
confirmou esta estrutura com pesos fatoriais e índices de ajustamento satisfatórios e apresentou
uma boa consistência interna. Cerca de 99.7% dos participantes referiram envolvimento em pelo
menos uma prática kinky. O IFAKBDSM apresentou resultados psicométricos satisfatórios,
demonstrando ser uma ferramenta fiável para estudar práticas kinky e BDSM em adultos
portugueses.
ABSTRACT:Sexual practices considered unconventional, including kinky and BDSM dynamics, are highly prevalent. However, studies often use ad hoc instruments and/or depend on the self-identification of participants in BDSM, leading to inconsistent results and hindering their cohesion. The present study aims to fill these gaps through the development and validation of the Inventário de Fantasias e Atividades kinky e BDSM (IFAKBDSM), as well as characterizing these practices in Portuguese adults. The IFAKBDSM was developed based on two pre-existing instruments and on the discussion with researchers, psychologists and individuals with kinky practices. Subsequently, two studies evaluated its psychometric properties. The first involved an Exploratory Factor Analysis with 260 Portuguese adults (18–72 years; M = 29), and the second a Confirmatory Factor Analysis with 515 Portuguese adults (18–79 years; M = 30), while also evaluating the prevalence of kinky and BDSM practices and comparing them between female and male participants. The factor structure analysis identified four factors consistent with the literature: Domination and Sadism, Submission and Masochism, Voyeurism and Exhibitionism, and Fetishism. The second study confirmed this structure with satisfactory factor weights and fit indices and presented good internal consistency. About 99.7% of participants reported engaging in at least one kinky practice. The IFAKBDSM presented satisfactory psychometric results, proving to be a reliable tool for studying kinky and BDSM practices in Portuguese adults.
