Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT: Tobacco consumption can bring numerous health risks, as this consumption is associated with several diseases and sometimes resulting deaths. Promoting this change reflects an improvement in quality of life. This behavioral change can be done in several ways, one of which is digital interventions, namely the use of text messages. In the current study, the most used behavioral change techniques (BCT) are identified according to Taxonomy v1 in digital interventions via text messages and which of these techniques are associated with better results for smoking cessation. The sample consisted of 57 articles relating to experimental studies that use digital interventions via SMS where the BCTs were coded. After coding, it was concluded that the most used BCTs were goal formulation (behaviour) (n=31), social support (nonspecific) (n=43), and information about health consequences (n=32). Subsequently, the number of BCTs present in the articles was counted and a second table was created with the prevalence percentage corresponding to the number of BCTs identified for the five outcome variables analyzed. The three techniques that stood out were: technique 1.1 Definition of objectives (behaviour), technique 3.1 Social Support (unspecified) and 5.1 Information on Health Consequences. Through this study it was possible to identify in the literature which behavioral change techniques are most used as well as those that show satisfactory results in text message interventions, corroborating it as a relevant study for the promotion of smoking cessation.
