The present study aimed to explore the influence of interparental conflict on adolescent delinquent behavior, considering the role of triangulation, identification with social contexts (family, peer group, and school), and future beliefs (aspirations and expectations) as moderators and mediators. The sample consisted of 291 secondary school students aged between 12 and 19 years old. The results showed that higher levels of interparental conflict and triangulation were associated with a greater likelihood of engaging in delinquent behavior. In contrast, a direct effect of family identification and, marginally, of expectations were observed, suggesting a protective effect of these variables against delinquency. However, the proposed mediation and moderation effects were not supported. These findings highlight the importance of the family context and realistic future expectations in adolescent behavioral development, underscoring the need to strengthen family bonds and promote achievable future goals.
