Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT: This study aimed to find out what influence the pre-competition speeches of a technical team had in the attitudes and motivations of a male football team under 14, over five games played within the district championship in Lisbon, then in 2013 / 2014. The study sample was 21 subjects, respondents in 10 times: In 5 games and in each game, the subjects answered a questionnaire before and after the discursive action. The questionnaires used were adaptations of "Michigan feeling thermometer" (Alwin, 1997), to infer the attitudes and degrees of motivations of athletes towards each game (before and after the lectures). The results show statistical significance with respect to the attitude change at least one of lectures, as is found statistically significant change in the degrees of motivation of at least two of the analyzed speeches. The quantitative analysis of this study was completed as a qualitative analysis of the lecture using two scales: The CBAS, Coaching Behavior Assessment System (Smith, Smoll & Hunt, 1977) and the emotional evaluation model developed by Abele and Brehm (1993) , called the BFS (Befindlichkeitsskalen). We confirmed with the combination of the two analyzes that emotional intensity imposed in the speeches, as well as the valence thereof, may be the factors that lead to changes in attitudes and degrees of motivation verified.
