Abstract(s)
A Concerns During Assisted Reproductive Technologies Scale (CART; Klonoff-Cohen, Natarajan, &
The Concerns During Assisted Reproductive Technologies Scale (CART; Klonoff-Cohen et al., 2007) was developed to assess concerns experienced by women pursuing medical treatment for infertility through assisted reproductive technologies, namely IVF and GIFT. The following topics are addressed: anesthesia, surgery, length of recovery, side effects from hormones, not having enough information, pain, finances, missing work or achieve a life birth delivery. The present study investigates the psychometric properties of the Portuguese version of the CART. A sample of 84 women undergoing IVF or ICSI completed a set of self-report measures composed by the CART-P and measures of depression, anxiety, infertility stress and self-efficacy to deal with infertility, used for validity studies. Results show that the CART-P presents a tri-factorial structure and similar psychometric properties when compared to its original version.
